listen if the little mermaid 2023 did anything right it was ariel and eric... they were already a good couple in the original but fleshing him out and making him drawn to the ocean in a parallel to ariel being drawn to land is so good. and kind of increasing that human vs merfolk tension to make it this romeo & juliet love story. like sorry they kind of slayed there. eric sees ariel turn back into a mermaid in front of him and all he does is hold her tighter. they're both gigantic nerds. he's a foot taller than her. it's incredible.

listen listen it’s okay if you like the new songs in the little mermaid or any other disney reboot really you do you but it’s soooo funny when i see people like “finally [x character] has a song” or “finally there’s a song for [x scene]” and meanwhile the 15+yo broadway musicals were just over there like “am i joke to you”
felix fathom probably has the worst social media presence in-universe bc i don't think he uses his accounts much but when he does his pr team has to work overtime to make sure he doesn't start a war

best advice i ever got as a writer was to pick a hobby that i hated more than writing and stick with it. i’m a runner now and it’s miserable and i Hate It and writing is so lovely in comparison. bonus: i’m in excellent shape and running gives you a lot of time to think about writing. i’ve solved a lot of plot complications while running.

Hey! People breathing in smoke right now! I'm a Californian, we (sadly) do this on the regular. Here are some tips:
1. run your air conditioner to purify the air inside
2. close windows and limit time outside as much as possible
3. DO NOT EXERCISE OUTSIDE
4. Wear an N95 outside
5. If you use an inhaler or take medication for asthma or any breathing condition, make sure you have enough. might be a good time to call in a refill.
6. REMEMBER YOUR ANIMALS! If you can, bring pets in the house so they're not breathing that toxic air.
